In January of 2004 Western Kentucky University Police Department was awarded it's third-five years accreditation by the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police. WKU Police was the fourth police department in the state of Kentucky to become accredited by the KACP. |
| The Western Kentucky University Police Department is a professional full service agency operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Officers have police powers, including arrest powers, under Kentucky Revised Statute 164.975. The WKU Police Department has a professional working relationship with the Bowling Green Police Department, the Warren County Sheriff's Office, the Kentucky State Police, The Warren County Drug Task Force, and all Federal Agencies. The Department consists of: 28 sworn officers, 10 administrative staff, 10 student police Explorers, and 1 student office employee. |
