The Western Kentucky University Police Department has received an
unusual amount of burglary reports over the past four months. In most
of these cases, the occupants of the residence hall rooms had gone
to sleep with their doors unsecured. This is of great concern to our
university community due to the possible threat these unsecured doors
represent to our student body. So far, we have been fortunate that
these unsecured doors have only resulted in property crimes. This
notification is being sent as a reminder to all of our student body
residing both on and off campus to always use caution in all activities,
but in particular to secure the doors to their residence. Please take
the time to keep yourselves and your property safe from criminal activities.
