It also provides opportunities to interact with the local Hispanic community. Weekly, many members hone their language skills and help the community by teaching English as a Second language classes. In addition, the Spanish Club is highly involved with community service activities targeted at the Hispanic community, such as item drives for needy families, health clinics, the Mexican Consulate's arrival to Bowling Green in November of 2004, and assisting the La Esperanza: The Hispanic Resource Center. The Spanish Club also encourages cultural understanding and educates its members and others through cultural activities and by participating in Bowling Green's annual International Festival downtown.
The Spanish Club is looking for students interested in becoming a member of the Club. This is a great opportunity to get involved with a very active student Club and practice your Spanish skills. Anybody that is interested contact Jami Eller <jami.eller@wku.edu> for more details.
