Music Theatre Minor

WKU now offers a Music Theatre minor.  This is a 28-credit program which will give you background and skills in music theatre performance.   The minor is compatible with any major at WKU.

If you are considering this minor, please email tracey.moore@wku.edu.  She will be able to answer any questions you might have, and will make sure you receive emails about auditions and other events.

There is no audition required for this minor.  However, it is recommended that you audition for all musical theatre productions in the Theatre & Dance department, in order to gain audition experience (and to be cast in shows!).  If you are cast, you will be expected to participate fully in rehearsals and performances, most of which take place in the evening.  Visit the AUDITIONS page for information on upcoming shows.

THEA 101 - Acting I
THEA 300 - Acting II
MUS 162 -  Group Voice lessons
MUS 150 -  Applied Voice
PERF 120 - Rehearsal and Production I
THEA 306 - (Music Theatre Ensemble) OR PERF 121 (Rehearsal and Production II)
THEA 252 - Fundamentals of Theatre
THEA 353 - Theatre History I
THEA 431 - Musical Theatre History & Repertoire
THEA 307 - Music Theatre Workshop I
One 3-credit elective from any UPPER division DANC, THEA, or PERF course
