WKU Forensics History from 1914
Forensics History
Each year represents a link that will show you a span of years. Each page is divided into the team list and team photo. There was no single contiguous team for most of our history, rather a collection of seperate teams. These will include, at different times:
- Congress Debate Club (created in 1919)
- Normal Debate Club (associated with Normal School, which was a preperatory school for the college)
- Girls Debate Club
- Inter-Collegiate Debate Team
- Squad (self explanatory)
- Western Debate Associates; "v" (represents Varsity), "n" (represents Novice)
- and "oratory" (on-campus oratorical contests such as the Ogden-Robinson Oratorical Competitions).
At times, it is unclear exactly which debate organizations exist on campus. For example, we may find photographs of women among the Debate area, but no list of a Girls Debate Club. Until we know otherwise, we will assume these were informal groups.
