Costumes at WKU
The costume shop for the Western Kentucky University Department of Theatre and Dance serves as the laboratory for all technical costume classes and provides full costume support to all department mainstage theatre and dance productions. The costume area has a faculty member who teaches classes in design and technology and a full time shop supervisor in addition to student staff. Students involved with the costume shop will learn beginning to advanced hand and machine sewing and will have opportunities to learn fabric dying and modification, millinery, and mask construction as well as other costume craft techniques. Other opportunities for involvement include doing wardrobe, designing and assistant designing for departmental productions. For more information about our program or to arrange a visit to our shop please feel free to contact either Shura Pollatsek at shura.pollatsek@wku.edu or Jennie Ingram at jennie.ingram@wku.edu or 270-745-2644.
