Dance Company

The WKU Dance Company is a performance group oriented to training dancers the skills of performance through a variety of repertory created by students, faculty, and guest artist. The preprofessional dance student will have the opportunity to develop practices and technique oriented toward a dance career. The Dance Company is by audition only. Click here for pictures.

Each Fall, the department holds a mass audition for all dance majors. BFA Seniors, Dance Faculty and Guest Artists to choose dancers for their works built during the year.

In addition to WKU Dance Company productions, each Fall our dancers produce and perform for:

• DanceOut!, outdoor annual dance concert

• Bowling Green International Festival

• WinterDance, main stage Faculty concert with one or two chosen student pieces

• Autumn Dance Project, concert featuring student choreography

• Last Chance to Dance (works in progress)

Each Spring our dancers produce and perform for:

• An Evening of Dance, main stage Faculty and Guest Artist concert

• American College Dance Festival (ACDFS - Hollins University, Roanoke, Virginia - March 18th - 21st) Conference

• Last Chance to Dance (works in progress)

• Italy tour concert series (years toured 2005, 06, 08, 09)
