  • Professor, School of Journalism and Broadcasting. Member of
    the broadcast faculty since 1979.
  • National radio/TV sales trainer, 1994-present.
  • Station Manager, WJIL radio, Jacksonville, Illinois, 1975-1979. Other positions in 11 years at Morgan County Broadcasting included account executive, Director of Public Affairs, and morning drive-time announcer.
  • Staff announcer, WNRR-FM, Appleton, Wisconsin, 1969-1970.
  • Staff announcer, KLAK AM/FM, Denver, Colorado, 1967-1969.
  • Other professional activity from 1970-1975 included student affairs positions at Lawrence University (Wisconsin) and McMurray College (Illinois).

  • Audience Research - How To Gather Meaningful Data in Your Emerging Democracy/Marketing and Positioning Radio in Cambodia. Seminars presented to radio station managers from Cambodia through the Internews Network/International Journalism and Media Management Training Program (WKU), Spring, 2002.
  • Follow-up seminars and training sessions were conducted in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from December 26, 2002 - January 9, 2003.
  • Two similar seminars were conducted on the WKU campus for radio station managers from Indonesia, Fall, 2001.
  • Marketing and Positioning Radio in the 2001 Marketplace. Marketing seminar presented to the Lexington Advertising Club, Lexington, Kentucky, January, 2001.
  • Marketing and Positioning Low-Power Television Stations. Seminar presented to the national convention of the Community Broadcasters Association (CBA), Orlando, Florida, August, 1999.
