CEO to speak to WKU students!

 

March 18, 2010 - Presentation by Stan Bikulege, CEO - "Leadership and Communication during times of Change and Challenge in the Business World" - FAC Russell Miller Theater - 7:00 p.m.   

 


Stan Bikulege, President and CEO of Hilex Poly Co. LLC, an industry leader in the manufacturing of plastic bags and plastic bag recycling, will speak to students regarding "Leadership and Communication during times of Change and Crisis in the Business World."  His presentation will be held Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the Russell Miller Theater, located in the Ivan Wilson Fine Arts Center.

Prior to his tenure with Hilex Poly Company, Mr. Bikulege held a number of executive positions for both public and private companies in various industries.  Most recently, he has held the positions of President and CEO for Renaissance Mark, a leading North American Label campany; President and CEO of Exopack, LLC, one of the largest Flexible Packaging Companies in North America, and Group President for Pliant Corporation, where he was responsible for 18 sites based in the US and overseas.  Mr. Bikulege was also an Operating partner for Arsenal Capital, a leading middle market private equity firm.

He has held Board positions for companies named above and currently holds positions with other Boards.

Mr. Bikulege earned a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree from Youngstown State University and an MBA from Georgia State University.

Awards:

The WKU Chapter of IABC has been awarded an Award of Excellence in PR and Publicity in the IABC Chapter Management Awards (CMA) competition.  The chapter was recognized at the 2010 CMA reception in San Diego, California on January 29, 2010.  They will also be featured on the IABC web site and in Student Connection.

  • Donna Renaud has a paper on teacher immediacy posted in the Listening Education journal.  Click here to view the article.
  • Dr. Blair Thompson will be presenting Top Panel for the Communication Education Division at the Central States Communication Conference (April 14-18 in Cincinnati).  His presentation will focus on effective self-disclosure practices during the opening week of class; practices which can help form a positive impression of the teacher and increase student interest in the course.
  • Dr. Blair Thompson has been selected to speak as part of the Academic Advantage Series in the Spring Semester.  Dr. Thompson will offer two student workshops on final exam preparation.  The workshops will occur on April 28th at 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in Grise hall Auditorium.
  • Dr. Carl L. Kell received the Friend of KAP Award from The Kelly Autism Program for his continued support and immense effort to make the Kelly Autism Program a success.
  • Marge Deller received the PCAL Outstanding Part-time Teacher Award
  • Dr. Kumi Ishii won the award for the Best Oral Presentation in English as a Second Language at the World Communication Association biennial conference held July 2009 in Ireland.
