PADs: Student Feedback
Homework survey spring 2004 included questions about graphs and vector
diagrams.
Graphs:
Majority of respondents positive or neutral about graphs
"I loved the graphs, especially those that related acceleration
and velocity because I could really see what was going on. The graphs
were difficult at first, but having to make them perfect (though Java was
frustrating) was beneficial. The graphs did not get painful until
torque diagrams came into play."
Vector diagrams:
Many negative comments, particularly about being 'pickly' on lengths, typing
labels, not gone over enough in class. (Pull down labels have been
added this summer).
"Drawing the vectors and bars be improved so that it make it
easier to do is knoing how long you have to make the vectors more precisely."
"They could be less anal for how or where you label the vectors."
