Homework 6: reading graphs
Due: Tuesday, January 27, 2004 11:30 PM CST

About this assignment
Practice reading and creating graphs.

If you have any problems with the graphs, please email me.

1. A velocity graph is shown below. Describe the motion and construct the corresponding position graph.
A) Select how the person is moving during each time period:
0 - 2 s:  [0.5]
2 - 4 s:  [0.5]
4 - 6 s:  [0.5]
6 - 8 s:  [0.5]
8 - 10 s: [0.5]
B) If the position is 5 m at time = 0, calculate the position at the following times.
2 s:  [0.5] m
4 s:  [0.5] m
6 s:  [0.5] m
8 s:  [0.5] m
10 s: [0.5] m
C) Draw the corresponding position graph below. (Help with graphing.)

2. A velocity graph is shown below. Describe the motion and construct the corresponding acceleration graph.
A) Select how the person is moving during each time period:
0 - 2 s:  [0.5]
2 - 4 s:  [0.5]
4 - 6 s:  [0.5]
6 - 8 s:  [0.5]
8 - 10 s: [0.5]
B) Calculate the acceleration for each time period.
0 - 2 s:  [0.5] m/s2
2 - 4 s:  [0.5] m/s2
4 - 6 s:  [0.5] m/s2
6 - 8 s:  [0.5] m/s2
8 - 10 s: [0.5] m/s2
C) Draw the corresponding acceleration graph below.
