The WKU-Professional MBA (PMBA) brings its executive-format program to Owensboro in Fall 2011
PMBA PROGRAM QUICK FACTS
“Executive format”
• Graduate in two years(starts only in Fall, includes Spring and Summer terms)
• Classes only meet 2/3 of the normal class time
• Meets every other Saturday (starts September 10, 2011)
• 8 meeting dates per semester/ 2 classes per semester
• Set Class Schedule(9am-12pm & 1pm-4pm with 1 hour lunch break)
In Fall: 9am - Advanced Accounting; 1pm - Advanced Organizational Behavior
Team-based and “Lock-step”
• Students work in a multi-skilled team within their cohort throughout lock-step program
• Meets outside of class to work on cases and other team assignments
• Study with your peers; enhance networking connections in region
Fully Accredited
• AACSB assures qualified faculty; complete and updated business curriculum
• 11 total MBA courses:
Advanced Organizational Behavior, Applied Microeconomics, Business Analysis Methods, Information Technology, Managerial Accounting, Advanced Marketing, Advanced Managerial Finance, and Strategic Business (Capstone) AND 3 current electives: International Business, Ethics, and Coaching
Preparation
• Most PMBAs have not completed a business degree in the last 5 years or they have a non-business degree. If so, we have the MBA Foundation Modules required “prep-class” that is on-demand and online.
International
• Tuition includes 1week business-focused trip visiting Lyon, France (May 2013)
Technology
• iPads furnished to incoming PMBA students
• Classes meet using Telepresence , an advanced teleconferencing “immersive” technology
(Owensboro team meets at WKU-O and Bowling Green team meets at The Center while utilizing telepresence technology)
PMBA ADMISSION QUICK FACTS (minimum requirements)
• 5 or more years of mid-upper management and/or professional work experience
Engineers, accountants, doctors, lawyers, and other professionals OR
Managers with 5 years experience beyond the front line in all industries
• Detailed resume showing years of work history and job levels
• GMAT score taken within the last 5 years (GMAT required of all students)
GMATs are offered daily in many locations – we suggest buying a review book
• Official transcript(s) from an accredited college(s) verifying a 4-year degree and GPA
• No expressed minimum requirements on GMAT and GPA
Experience substitutes for some of standard GMAT/GPA expectations
