Uploading Files

Uploading files with OU Campus is fairly straight-forward.  While you can also upload images through the WYSIWYG, if you have more than file, it could be a long process.  If you have binary files (like PDF's, videos, flash files, images, etc.), you should upload them through the Upload Admin demonstrated on this page.  After you upload the images, you can still modify them with the WYSIWYG. 

All binary files are uploaded to the production server and do not live on the staging server, therefore, they do not need to be published in order to see them on your live website.

Step By Step Guide

1. From the Content Tab > Pages Admin, you can upload multiple files at one time.  Navigate to the folder you would like to upload the files to as it will upload them to the current location.  Within the desired directory, click the “Upload” button in the top right.
2. The file upload menu will appear.  Click on the browse button to browse your local files. Find the file you want to upload and double-click it.  You can upload up to 10 files at one time through this menu.  (Please Note: You will have to follow the same naming convention as you do when creating pages.  No spaces, capital letters or special characters except underscores ( _ ) or dashes ( - ).)
3. In order to see the files you just uploaded you will need to switch to Production View by clicking on the Production Tab in the top right of the File list.  Production View is also where you would rename, move, or delete uploaded files.
