Bachelor of Art in Psychology
Program Description:The general major in psychology requires a minimum of 36 semester hours and leads to a Bachelors of Arts degree. A minor or second major is required. The extended major in psychology requires a minimum of 51 semester hours; no minor or second major is required.

Availability: A substantial percentage of the program can be completed through distance learning, including online courses, interactive TV courses, and correspondence study courses. Transferring: If you would like to transfer credits to WKU, you can go to Topnet, then click on Admissions, Transferring your Credits, Transfer Credit Equivalency, and then Transfer Credit Equivalency again, and do your own transcript evaluation. When you apply for admission to WKU, your transcript will be formally evaluated and you will receive a report of exactly which of your courses will transfer and under what categories. Program Length: This program is expected to take a minimum of four years with a total of 128 semester hours.

General Major The general major in psychology (reference number 760) requires a minimum of 36 semester hours and leads to a bachelor of arts degree. A minor or second major is required. At least half of the program must be in upper division courses (numbered 300 or above). Required courses are PSY 100 Introduction to Psychology , 201-210 Experimental Psychology and Psychological Statistics (prerequisite MATH 116 College Algebra ), 361 Psychological Tests and Measurements, 495 History and Systems of Psychology, and the indicated number of hours from each of the following categories.

Psychology Electives: 6 hours
Minor in Psychology: The minor in psychology (reference number 438) requires a minimum of 21 semester hours including PSY 100 Introduction to Psychology. The minor program is designed by the student with the approval of the student's advisor. At least twelve hours of the course work must be in upper-division courses (numbered 300 or above).
Synchronous Activity Requirements: Students will complete most of their program in their home regions, however, the entire program is not available online at this time. You will need to either transfer in or attend on-campus. Many of the courses are available in the evenings or at our extended campuses.
