Day 14: Shanghai
Allison Dial, Franklin TN
Today was our longest day of the trip. Not too many people were happy that breakfast was at 6:15am and we had to be on the bus and ready to go at 7am. Thankfully, we had breakfast at the hotel. It’s not your normal continental breakfast at a hotel but my breakfast consisted of 2 pieces of toast, rice, eggs, and a roll. We proceeded to the airport and got there at 8:15am. Unfortunately we couldn’t check in until 9:15 so we all waited until the counter opened up. The security was efficient at the Taiyuan Airport and it didn’t take long to get through. We waited to see which gate we would use. We boarded at 10:35 and took off around 11:15. It was a two hour plane ride to Shanghai. We walked to the bus and had to take our luggage off the carts. Lee had mine and I got ahead of him. We got on the bus and headed to the hotel we stayed at originally. We had an hour before we headed to old Shanghai for supper. Most of us went straight to McDonalds. One student got a cheeseburger but the Chinese forgot the burger. The riverfront was beautiful at night. There was a lady who was trying to get money from us especially Isaiah. She would not leave him alone. When we got back to the hotel we decided to go out on the town since it was our last night here. I think everyone is ready to go home…:)
