Outstanding Black Graduates Recognition Ceremony
Date:  Friday, May 16th, 2014
Time:  7:00pm - 9:00pm
Location:  Van Meter Hall (Auditorium)

The Outstanding Black Graduates ceremony came into existence on the campus of Western Kentucky University in May of 1999 to honor African American students who successfully complete all requirements for graduation.  Since then, it has grown into an eagerly anticipated event by the graduates, the University community, and their families.  This ceremony not only grew in its number of participants and attendees, but due to its popularity, it grew to include two celebrations per year prior to commencement.  Each semester, this celebratory program recognizes the African American tradition of community achievement as well as empowers students to continue successful ventures after graduation.  It gives graduates, their families, loved ones, friends as well as faculty, staff, and alumni an opportunity to celebrate in a more personal setting.  Today, we continue this tradition by honoring the outstanding May 2014 graduates.
