Job Summary
The purpose of the job is to provide support to the Quality Systems Team Leader and Quality Systems Chemists by completing quality-related tasks in respect to sampling, recording, and organizing data for an NIR analyzer project. General laboratory testing may be required to assist completion of the project to include analysis for moisture, fat, protein, ash, and/or available water.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Complete routine analytical chemical testing while maintaining good laboratory practices and working safely. Ability to analyze finished product for: moisture, fat, protein, ash and available water utilizing approved lab methods. Must be training by Hill’s personnel and have completed Analyst Qualification for analysis.
Provide assistance for the following programs to ensure timely completion and accurate documentation: Lab Equipment Calibration and Verification programs, Lab Audit Checklist / Quality Practices, Laboratory Safety Audit, Laboratory Sanitation, and Retention Program of finished products laboratory samples
Organize data and results of finished product analytical programs to facilitate timely calibration of NIR equipment. Maintain and close open work items in Laboratory documents
Perform daily sampling and shipment of finished product samples to support timely analysis of the needed analytical constituent

Must also demonstrate proficiency with equipment such as meters, oscilloscopes, hand tools, modems, power supplies and test equipment. Intern – Central Engineer

Kerr-Greulich Engineers is seeking a mechanical engineering student for a summer internship in Bowling Green, KY. Kerr-Greulich is a mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection consulting engineering firm established in 1983 in Louisville, Kentucky. The company designs a variety of commercial buildings including some work you may be familiar with: Downing Student Union, Mahurin Honors College, Gary Ransdell Hall. Some projects outside of WKU include the Speed Art Museum in Louisville, Angel’s Envy Distillery, various UofL Hospital renovations and River Park Place apartments on the Louisville river front. The student intern will work in the newly formed Bowling Green team as part of the firm’s education team. The intern will be asked to do a variety of design and engineering tasks. Some skill with AutoCAD or Revit is desired. The student must be seeking a degree in Mechanical Engineering and it is desired that Thermodynamics has been successfully completed.

Water/Wastewater Division – Project Management
Bowling Green Municipal Utilities seeks students currently enrolled in any engineering discipline, or construction management studies to fill one summer internship position. Civil engineering and construction management students are preferred. Typical schedule will be 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some flexibility. The internship will commence in June and is temporary in nature, ending on or before September 16, 2016.
Duties will include field investigations and data analysis. Strong computer and math skills are required. Activities, under the guidance of BGMU’s wastewater system Project Manager, will include:
1. Regulatory Compliance: Assist the wastewater Project Manager in compiling and assembling BGMU’s plan for responding to wastewater pump station power outages. Activities will include:
a. Collecting data from 59 wastewater pump stations, and
b. Preparing a summary document presenting:
i. Equipment present at each wastewater pump station,
ii. Additional equipment required at each station, and
iii. Equipment BGMU needs to contend with large scale power outages, And
iv. A guide for triage.
2. Wastewater Pump Station Odor Control Equipment Selection: Research options for managing odor control at an important wastewater pump station. Activities will include:
a. Meeting with vendors, and
b. Preparing a decision briefing, with recommendation, for the BGMU Water/Wastewater Systems Manager and staff for selection of odor control equipment.
A valid driver’s license is required. Candidates must be enrolled in a college or university in the preceding spring semester and the following fall semester. The Internship will be a 10–12 week summer program. This is a paid, full time (summer) position at the

AstraZeneca oral solid dosage form manufacturing facility located at 4601 Highway 62 East in Mt. Vernon, IN.

Interns living further than 50 miles from the facility will be provided housing for the duration of the internship. Over

the course of the summer, each intern will perform department specific day to day activities, as well as being

responsible for leading, executing and reporting out on a project to Site Leadership and staff.

 Operational Excellence Intern

o Focuses on improving manufacturing & business processes through the application of Lean

summer.

 Technical Services Intern

o Supporting MT Projects (e.g. Data Collection & Analysis, Continuous Process Verification,

Continuous Improvement, etc.).

o Provides technical support for operations, including investigation and correction of process-related

problems and deviations from standard.

o Executing assigned project & presenting project findings to site leadership and staff at the end of

summer.

 Quality Assurance Intern

o Responsible for QA activities that directly support execution of the process both within the Process

Execution Team (PET) and in assigned areas outside of the PETs.

o Collaborates with other PET/assigned area members to facilitate process improvements and risk

assessments; benchmark internal and external QA practices to identify innovative efficient and

effective practices.

o Executing assigned project & presenting project findings to site leadership and staff at the end of

summer.

 Quality Control Intern

o Performs data review activities as required.

o Participates in investigations for PET process areas related to QC process or data.

o Provides & follows up on ideas for continuous improvements in laboratory process.

ALL INTERNS

o Executes work in compliance with GMPs, site policies, work instructions & SOPs.

POSITION SUMMARY:

                       

Assist Engineers, under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, in developing, organizing, implementing and updating operational control processes and methods to optimize quality, cost, time, and effectiveness.  This will include providing support for the Quality department, Maintenance department and Operations depending on the task or project requirements.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

  1. Assists Engineers in the design and implementation of continuous improvement and capital projects.
  2. Provides support for all Engineering functions where needed.
  3. Creates, modifies, and troubleshoots control programing for PLCs, HMIs, Visual Equipment, and Databases.
  4. Troubleshoots operational failures and create short term solutions to remedy causes as well as long term solutions to prevent future occurrences.
  5. Develops methods and standards of generating usable information derived from data, as well as, techniques to collect and organize data.
  6. Maintains and modifies the process control equipment’s Intranet over an Ethernet network.
  7. Organizes existing documentation and creates documentation of current processes (including but not limited to: CADD drawings, Flow Charts, Control Programs, Network Risers, etc.)
  8. Provides training to Operations and Maintenance personnel including the development of Standardized Work Instructions.   
  9. Continually seeks out improvement ideas that optimize operations, as well as, engineering procedures.
  10. Follows company policies and procedures including safety, quality and environmental.
  11. Performs other duties as required by business needs.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

       At least a sophomore in good standing and enrolled in an Engineering Bachelor Degree program.

       At least a 3.0/4.0 GPA.

 

Pay rates start out at $18.00 for Sophomore status, $19.00 for Junior status, and $20.00 for Senior Status.

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT FIRM
