Biography

Elizabeth Groves is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing and Allied Health at WKU. She received a BSN (2010), MSN with an emphasis in Nursing Education (2014), and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in 2019 from WKU. Dr. Groves teaches in the BSN Pre-licensure program and currently serves as the course coordinator for Medical-Surgical Nursing II for which she also teaches simulation. She has also taught Introduction to Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing II Clinical, and Senior Practicum.

Dr. Groves’ nursing background includes medical-surgical, critical care, and open-heart recovery. She is a certified critical care registered nurse (CCRN) and maintains certifications for BLS and ACLS. She is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, National League for Nursing, and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society for which she serves as the local Kappa Theta Chapter's Webmaster. 

In addition to her work with the nursing program, Dr. Groves is a faculty advisor for the WKU Student Fellowship of Old-Time Baptists which meets weekly for bible study and Christian fellowship.
