Deanna L. Hanson, MSN, RN
Education :
1995 Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Western Kentucky University
2006 Masters of Nursing (MSN) in Nursing Education from Western Kentucky University
Mrs. Hanson has worked in Orthopedics and Neurology, Pediatrics, and Staff Education. She has been employed at WKU since 2005. She is an ANCC certified pediatric nurse and a WKU Master Advisor. She is a member of the Kentucky Nurses Association, the National League for Nursing, and Sigma Theta Tau the international nursing honor society. Mrs. Hanson is interested in issues related to Child Health. In 2007 she collected baseline research entitled Chronic Disease Risk Factors: 6th Grade Student Health Screening on local junior high students and in 2011/2011 a multi-diciplinary team is continuing the study further through data collection and intervention implementation. She currently teaches pediatric lecture content and clinical in N444/445 Nursing Care of Women, Infants, and Children.
