Parking Structure 2 (the new structure) will be used exclusively for paid parking for those attending all games.
Parking Structure 1 and the Creason Lot will be used for paid parking beginning with the 3 p.m. Dec. 4 game.
Fans attending the games are also encouraged to carpool and to use complimentary Park and Ride Service from the Campbell Lane Lot on Friday. Buses leave approximately every 8 minutes.
Friday evening and all day Saturday, Park and Ride Service will be available from the Adams Street, Kentucky Street and Center Street parking lots.
The lane of Avenue of Champions next to the stadium will be used for unloading and loading of fan buses. Those buses then will park in the Supply Service and Adams Street lots.
“WKU is pleased to partner with the Bowling Green Area Convention and Visitors Bureau to host the KHSAA football championship games at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium,” said Robbin Taylor, vice president of public affairs at WKU. “This event represents a significant economic stimulus to Bowling Green and provides us with an exciting opportunity to showcase our campus and our community to thousands of Kentucky high school students and their parents, teachers and school officials as well as high school football fans from across our state.
“While there will certainly be some disruption to normal campus business on Friday, we have put together an alternative parking plan that should accommodate the parking needs of all permit holders,” Taylor said.
WKU faculty and staff members displaced from the Diddle and South Lawn lots should utilize Parking Structure 1, Jones-Jaggers, and other Commuter, Housing, or All Permits parking lots, such as the Creason or Adams Street lots.
Commuting students who normally park in Parking Structure 2 should utilize the Center Street, Adams Street, Kentucky Street, Creason, Normal or Chestnut Street South lots.
Students, faculty and staff as well as fans attending the KHSAA games are encouraged to park at the South Campus or Campbell Lane lots and ride a WKU shuttle bus to campus.
Fans traveling on Interstate 65 and taking Exit 26 (Cemetery Road) into Bowling Green will need to turn left onto U.S. 31-W Bypass and proceed to University Boulevard to reach campus. (Directions to WKU are available online at http://www.wku.edu/news/footballdirections.html).
