Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University senior Brian Bloss, a member of the Forensic Team with a 
major in political science and a minor in history, has been accepted to The Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University.
The school, founded by Former President George H.W. Bush, is meant to train the next generation of leaders in various fields of public service.
Bloss, of Coppell, Texas, was accepted to the Master’s Program in International Affairs, focusing specifically on National Security Affairs.
Of approximately 250 prospective students who applied for the program, Bloss was one of 75 semifinalists who attended a rigorous interview process Feb. 27-28 in College Station, Texas. Other interviewees included those who had served in the military as well as students who had either graduated, or are set to graduate in May, from schools such as Georgetown University and the University of California Los Angeles. Additionally, some candidates came from as far away as South Korea for the interview.
Of those 75 candidates, approximately 50 were selected to be offered a spot at the Bush School’s International Affairs Master Program.
The interview conferences enabled the School’s Admissions Committee to learn more about the prospective students, while at the same time, gave the students a chance to better understand the Bush School experience. Among the activities were an overview of the School, academic program interviews and assessments, campus and community tours, and opportunities to interact informally with current students, faculty and staff.
