Schleig Joins WKU As MBA Admissions Director, Advisor

Bowling Green, Ky. - April Schleig, a graduate of Western Kentucky University’s Gordon Ford College of Business MBA program, has returned as the MBA admissions director and advisor. She replaces Paula Newby, who retired in December 2008.

Schleig, who is from Vestal, N.Y., also earned her bachelor’s degree and leadership certificate from WKU. She is rejoining the WKU family after working at Dell Computers regional office in Nashville.

While working on her MBA, Schleig was a graduate assistant in the Management Department where she gained experience in advising students and administering program requirements. Her assignments also gave her the opportunity to coordinate with the various departments within the college and familiarize herself with faculty and staff.

Schleig also worked on assignments for the MBA office including a research project on MBA rankings.

She was particularly notable among MBA students as the co-founder and first president of the MBA Student Association and recipient of the Gordon Ford College of Business “Outstanding Graduate Student” award. Schleig offers an excellent understanding of student needs to the job along with the desire to continuously improve the MBA program.
