WKU, South Central Bank Honor Glasgow Area Scholars

Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University and South Central Bank honored 24 seniors from five Glasgow area high schools for their academic achievements.

Thursday’s annual High School Scholars Luncheon honored high school seniors who qualify for at least a renewable full-tuition scholarship to WKU. This year’s group has an average ACT composite score of 28 and grade-point average of 3.89 and includes seven Governor’s Scholars and one National Merit Semifinalist.

The students honored at the South Central Bank Operations Center in Glasgow included:

From Barren County High School:
Addison Alexander, Whitney Botts, Jacob Delk, Shawna Felkins, Emily Kinslow, Courtney Thompson.

From Caverna High School:
Jamie Hatcher.

From Glasgow High School:
Yun Bai, Chris Bidwell, David Bushey, Asa Darnell, Andrew Dennis, Henry Echeverria, Anja Gilreath, Laketta Graves, Donovan Kirkpatrick, Amber Martin, Kristen Wilkinson.

From Metcalfe County High School:
Sarah McCandless.

From Monroe County High School:
Holly Bean, Clint Bybee, Jennifer Clay, Gavin Davis, Jake Murley.
The Glasgow area luncheon was one of five WKU will conduct this month. The others are Owensboro Area Scholars Luncheon on Tuesday, Jan. 13; South Central Kentucky Scholars Luncheon on Jan. 22; Bowling Green/Warren County Scholars Luncheon on Jan. 23; and Elizabethtown Area Scholars Dinner on Jan. 27.
