Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University forensic team members traveled to Denver on the weekend of Jan. 16-18 to compete in the Regis University/Texas Tech Parliamentary Debate Swing.
In one of the largest debate tournaments of the year, WKU tied for first place in overall sweepstakes with Western Washington University.
Results from the Regis/Texas Tech Swing are as follows:
Kaleb Jessee, a junior from Garden City, Kan., fourth debate speaker in the Texas Tech portion.
Brian Bloss, a senior from Coppell, Texas, eighth debate speaker in the Texas Tech portion.
Logan Parke, a junior from Little Rock, Ark., ninth debate speaker in the Texas Tech portion.
Elizabeth Mullins, a junior from Plymouth, Mass., 17th debate speaker in the Regis portion.
Josh Ramsey, a junior from Fort Scott, Kan., 19th debate speaker in the Texas Tech portion.
Brandon Merrell, a sophomore from Snohomish, Wash., 20th debate speaker in the Texas Tech portion.
Team of Logan Parke (Little Rock, Ark.) and Thomas Schally (Stillwater, Minn.), quarterfinalist in parliamentary debate in the Regis portion; semifinalist in parliamentary debate in the Texas Tech portion.
Team of Jessica Furgerson (San Antonio, Texas) and Elizabeth Mullins (Plymouth, Mass.), octafinalist in parliamentary debate in the Regis portion; quarterfinalist in parliamentary debate in the Texas Tech portion.
