Bowling
Green, Ky. - Members of the Western Kentucky University Forensic Team traveled to Clemson, S.C., the weekend of Feb. 21-22.
All 10 members achieved at least one final round, qualifying more WKU students for the national tournaments in April.
Individual results for Clemson University Swing are as follows:
Jerome Davis, a junior from Austell, Ga., tournament champion in poetry interpretation and tournament champion in duo interpretation (with Robert Whittley) in the Florida portion; third in duo interpretation (with Robert Whittley) and fourth in poetry interpretation in the Clemson portion.
Seth Peckham, a junior from Alden, Kan., tournament champion in impromptu speaking, tournament champion in extemporaneous speaking, fourth in communication analysis, and fifth in after-dinner speaking in the Clemson portion; second in communication analysis, second in after-dinner speaking, third in impromptu speaking and fourth in extemporaneous speaking in the Florida portion.
Ganer Newman, a senior from Sherman Oaks, Calif., tournament champion in communication analysis and second in poetry interpretation in the Clemson portion; tournament champion in communication analysis and fifth in poetry interpretation in the Florida portion.
J.D. VanSlyke, a senior from Wylie, Texas, tournament champion in after-dinner speaking in the Clemson portion; tournament champion in after-dinner speaking and sixth in impromptu speaking in the Florida portion.
Carrie Guggenmos, a junior from Fullerton, Calif., tournament champion in persuasive speaking, second in prose interpretation and sixth in informative speaking in the Florida portion; second in persuasive speaking in the Clemson portion.
Robert Whittley, a sophomore from Glenview, Ill., tournament champion in duo interpretation (with Jerome Davis) and sixth in prose interpretation in the Florida portion; third in duo interpretation (with Jerome Davis) in the Clemson portion.
Samantha Harrison, a junior from Carrollton, Texas, second in after-dinner speaking, fourth in pentathalon and fourth in prose interpretation in the Clemson portion; fourth in after-dinner speaking and fifth in pentathalon in the Florida portion.
Ethan Millspaugh, a sophomore from Coppell, Texas, fourth in programmed oral interpretation, fourth in duo interpretation (with Chelsea Harman) and fifth in communication analysis in the Clemson portion; fifth in communication analysis in the Florida portion.
Chelsea Harman, a sophomore from Hickory, second in dramatic interpretation in the Florida portion; fourth in dramatic interpretation and fourth in duo interpretation (with Ethan Millspaugh) in the Clemson portion.
Cornelius Lee, a senior from Killeen, Texas, second in poetry interpretation in the Florida portion.
