Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University forensic team members won the debate sweepstakes and overall sweepstakes championships at the Webster Invitational Forensics Tournament in St. Louis on Jan. 31-Feb. 1.
In debate sweepstakes, McKendree College placed second behind WKU with Truman State University third. In the overall sweepstakes race, WKU was followed by Truman State University and McKendree College. WKU also received top Pi Kappa Delta Chapter Member.

Team of Jessica Furgerson (San Antonio, Texas) and Elizabeth Mullins (Plymouth, Mass.), co-champions in parliamentary debate.
Team of Brandon Merrell (Snohomish, Wash.) and Josh Ramsey (Fort Scott, Kan.), co-champions in parliamentary debate.
Team of Logan Parke (Little Rock, Ark.) and Thomas Schally (Stillwater, Minn.), semifinalist in parliamentary debate.
Team of Brian Bloss (Coppell, Texas) and Kaleb Jessee (Garden City, Kan.), octafinalist in parliamentary debate.
Team of Frank Murdock (Kingston, Wash.) and Sarah Spiker (Snohomish, Wash.), octafinalist in parliamentary debate.
Thomas Schally, a senior from Stillwater, Minn., co-champion in Lincoln-Douglas debate and top Lincoln-Douglas debate speaker.
Lauren Nelson, a senior from Wheaton, Ill., tournament co-champion in Lincoln-Douglas debate, second in duo interpretation (with Josh Ramsey) and third in prose interpretation.
Elizabeth Mullins, a junior from Plymouth, Mass., top parliamentary debate speaker, second Lincoln-Douglas debate speaker, quarterfinalist in Lincoln-Douglas debate and fourth in informative speaking.
Frank Murdock, a freshman from Kingston, Wash., tournament champion in extemporaneous speaking, 10th parliamentary debate speaker and double octafinalist in Lincoln-Douglas debate.
Sarah Spiker, a sophomore from Snohomish, Wash., quarterfinalist in Lincoln-Douglas debate, third parliamentary debate speaker and eighth Lincoln-Douglas debate speaker.
Brian Bloss, a senior from Coppell, Texas, second in extemporaneous speaking.
Todd Rainey, a sophomore from Indianapolis, second in informative speaking.
