Green, Ky. - The Western Kentucky University office of Continuing Education is offering a free one-day workshop for job seekers who want to understand the job search process and to sharpen interview skills.
The workshop is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Carroll Knicely Conference Center in Bowling Green.
Continuing Education is partnering with Way Solutions, a national recruiting company that serves Fortune 500 and mid-sized companies across a broad range of industries including high tech, consulting, accounting, entertainment, restaurant, health care and more. Workshop leader Jennifer Way is a talent acquisition consultant with more than 15 years of global recruiting experience.
In today’s competitive marketplace, finding a job has a whole new sense of urgency. This workshop will enhance job search skills and is for anyone who wants to know the secrets of how to get hired. In this course, participants will learn how to present their value in terms that recruiters and managers will understand to help them become a stand out candidate.
According to Way, “Understanding the rules of the hiring system can work to the job seekers advantage.”
Way Solutions’ Candidate Workshop will equip participants with the skills to find and secure the best job opportunities. The key learning objectives for this one‐day workshop include improving job search methods and perfecting interview skills.
This powerful interactive workshop is led by talent consultants with years of experience in recruiting roles for companies like Microsoft, Disney and Amazon.com. Session leaders will share real-world examples of the best and worst candidate habits and help job seekers evaluate their own skills. They also lead role-playing activities that allow participants to become comfortable using new job search techniques.
