Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University forensic team members traveled to Muncie, Ind., to attend the Ball State “Age of Aquarius” Tournament the weekend of Oct. 18-19.
WKU advanced all members to a final round and received the sweepstakes championship, ahead of Illinois State University and Eastern Michigan University.
Results from the Ball State “Age of Aquarius” Tournament are as follows:
Taron Grizzell, a freshman from Union City, Calif., tournament champion in duo interpretation (with Celena Allen) and third in after-dinner speaking.
Jeffrey Boggess, a junior from Hayward, Calif., tournament champion in dramatic interpretation and fourth in poetry interpretation.
Celena Allen, a freshman from Hayward, Calif., tournament champion in duo interpretation (with Taron Grizzell).
Corey Gomez, a freshman from Newark, Calif., tournament champion in programmed oral interpretation.
Jason Carey, a junior from Hutchinson, Kan., third in persuasive speaking.
Chris Hiller, a freshman from Coppell, Texas, fourth in prose interpretation and sixth in dramatic interpretation.
Ethan Millspaugh, a sophomore from Coppell, Texas, fourth in after-dinner speaking and fourth in communication analysis.
Rob Strobel, a sophomore from Lexington, third in extemporaneous speaking.
Matt Whitman, a freshman from Austin, Texas, third in impromptu speaking and fifth in extemporaneous speaking.
Maggie Woodward, a freshman from Collierville, Tenn., second in persuasive speaking.
