Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University students have won the $40,000 top prize in “Chase Go Green” Facebook competition on sustainability issues.
Chase, a commercial banking brand of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., will present the award to WKU’s GreenToppers on Tuesday evening (Oct. 28) at a Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce event.
The October Business After Hours event will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Chase location, 1945 Scottsville Road, Suite 205.
The Green Toppers won by earning the most points from July 23 to Sept. 14, with points being earned by taking a Green Quiz, by asking other students to participate and by learning about Chase banking for students.
The group plans to use the money to support student-led sustainability projects on campus, according to student Seth Cude, who spearheaded the WKU effort.
