WKU Professor To Present At International Music Conference

Bowling Green, Ky. - Dr. Robyn Swanson, a professor of Music Education at Western Kentucky University, has been selected to present a demonstration/workshop titled “A Brand New World Opens For Pre-School Children with Developmental Delays Through a Standards Based Creative Arts Curriculum” at the International Society of Music Education (ISME) Conference.
           
The conference will be held in Bologna, Italy, July 20-25.  ISME membership represents more than 80 countries and is an affiliate of the Music Education National Conference (MENC): The National Association for Music Education.  The ISME conference is held biennially at a different location around the world and approximately only 10 of the clinicians are from the United States.
           
Dr. Swanson developed the Creative Arts Curriculum in partnership with the Warren County School District.  The two-year curriculum project was designed and taught by Dr. Swanson to pre-school children with developmental delays at Briarwood Elementary School (Warren County) and was funded by VSA Kentucky and the Bowling Green/Western Symphony.
