WKU, Gander Mountain Offering Gun Safety Course For Women

Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University’s Continuing Education department and Gander Mountain in Bowling Green are partnering to offer Gun Safety & Maintenance for Women.

The course will be held at 6 p.m. May 27 at the Gander Mountain store on Bluegrass Farms Boulevard.

Participants will learn how to safely handle firearms, proper maintenance and storage, proper supplies and cleaning techniques, and how to use a firearm more efficiently. Participants may bring an unloaded firearm to the course (firearms must be checked at the door), or a firearm will be provided as an instructional aid during the class.

The instructor for the class is Jim Thompson, a gunsmith for more than 20 years. Preregistration is recommended by calling Tabitha Elmore with the Gander Gals program at (270) 842-0855. There is no registration fee.
