Bowling
Green, Ky. - Columnist, poet, essayist and blogger Katha Pollitt will visit Western Kentucky University on March 25.
Pollitt’s presentation on “Learning to Drive and Other Life Stories” will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Mass Media and Technology Hall Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
Pollitt is noted for her wit, irreverence and a keen sense of irony. An unabashed feminist and progressive, she has tackled some of our most controversial moral issues, including date rape, surrogate motherhood, violence against women and fetal rights. She has been both a Guggenheim Fellow and a National Endowment for the Arts grant recipient.
Pollitt’s appearance is sponsored by the Women’s Studies Program, along with the School of Journalism and Broadcasting, the Rodes-Helm Lecture Series, Potter College of Arts and Letters and the Campus Activities Board.
