Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University and South Central Bank honored 34 seniors from five Glasgow area high schools for their academic achievements.
Thursday’s annual High School Scholars Luncheon honored high school seniors who qualify for at least a renewable full-tuition scholarship to WKU. This year’s group has an average ACT composite score of 28.4 and grade-point average of 3.81 and includes 10 Governor’s Scholars and one National Merit Semifinalist.
The students honored at the South Central Bank Operations Center in Glasgow included:
From Barren County High School: Catherine Beals, Laura Brooks, Blair Casteel, Jessica Cooper, Adam Fife, Jared Gutherie, Jon David Hammer, Lindsay Huffman, Jessica King, Kali Lyons, Erin Napier, Jeremy Phillips, Matthew Riley, Latraca Shirley, Zaheer Siamwala, Robert Skipworth, Charles Trigg and Sarah Ward.
From Caverna High School: Kyle Bunnell.
From Glasgow High School: Courtney Cotton, Barrett Dennison, Andreu Edge, Charlie Fant, Sara Glanz, Jordan Hatchett, Sasha Paige Lee, Brittany Morgan, Jeanne Shearer, Brenna Tinsley and Matthew Trautman.
From Metcalfe County High School: Alexandria Boswell, Robert Brown and Matthew Hubbard.
From Monroe County High School: Brittany Netherton.
The Glasgow area luncheon was one of five WKU will conduct this month. The others are Bowling Green/Warren County Scholars Luncheon on Jan. 8; South Central Kentucky Scholars Luncheon on Jan. 10; Owensboro Area Scholars Luncheon on Jan. 15; and Elizabethtown Area Scholars Dinner on Jan. 22.
