January 02, 2008
Bowling
Green, Ky. - The 2008 WKU Winter Term is under way with enrollment topping the mark set in the first two years of the program. This year’s Winter Term runs from Jan. 2-18.
More than 2,445 students are taking classes, an increase over the approximately 1,580 students who took classes during Western Kentucky University’s first Winter Term in 2006 and 1,924 in 2007. There are approximately 188 faculty members leading 261 sections during the 2008 Winter Term.
WKU Winter Term courses are on the Bowling Green campus as well as the regional campuses in Glasgow, Elizabethtown/Fort Knox and Owensboro and online. WKU also has 95 students participating in 21 Study Abroad sections during the Winter Term. Courses are being offered in the Bahamas, Germany, England, Mexico, Malaysia, Costa Rica and India.
The Winter Term program is partnering with the Campus Activities Board (CAB) to provide the following special activities for students on the Bowling Green campus:
*Jan. 8: Networking lunch for Winter Term students and Winter Term faculty at Fresh Food Company in the Downing University Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Students make faster progress toward graduation by taking classes during Winter Term. The Winter Term also gives students additional opportunities to take classes that are difficult to get into or prerequisites they need for other courses.
