Bowling
Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University’s School of Journalism and Broadcasting will present “Eyes on the World” photography exhibit Jan. 31-Feb. 27 at Mass Media and Technology Hall’s gallery.
The photographs in the exhibit are a collection of images from photographers worldwide who were awarded funds for their projects through the Alexia Foundation for World Peace. The foundation (http://www.alexiafoundation.org/) was established by Peter and Aphrodite Tsairis after their daughter, Alexia, was killed in the 1998 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland.
Peter and Aphrodite Tsairis will attend the exhibit opening at WKU on Jan. 31.
At 6:30 p.m., the School of Journalism and Broadcasting will host a reception to open the “Eyes on the World” exhibition in the foyer of the MMTH gallery. At 7:30 p.m. in the MMTH Auditorium, San Diego Union-Tribune photojournalist Peggy Peattie will discuss “Down in Dixie,” the book she published as a result of her Alexia project, as well as other work she has produced in her award-winning career. For information on her book, visit http://www.peggypeattie.com/.
The “Eyes on the World” exhibition has been shown at the United Nations building in New York City; Pingyao, China; and the United Nations Center in Japan.
