Green, Ky. - About 600 students, parents and teachers from 19 high schools will attend the 2008 Western Kentucky University ROTC Cadet Challenge on Saturday.
The opening ceremony begins at 8 a.m. at Diddle Arena and will feature remarks from WKU President Gary Ransdell and Lt. Col. Mark E. Powell, professor of Military Science and Leadership. The competition begins at 8:40 a.m. and ends with an awards ceremony at 2:30 p.m.
High schools participating in 2008 WKU Cadet Challenge include the following: Bowling Green High School, Bowling Green, Ky.; Central Hardin High School, Elizabethtown, Ky.; Central High School, Evansville, Ind.; Clinton County High School, Albany, Ky.; East Ridge High School, Pikeville, Ky.; Eastern High School, Louisville, Ky.; Fort Campbell High School, Fort Campbell, Ky.; Fort Knox High School, Fort Knox, Ky.; Grant County High School, Dry Ridge, Ky.; Greenwood High School, Bowling Green, Ky.; Henry Clay High School, Lexington, Ky.; John Hardin High School, Radcliff, Ky.; Logan County High School, Russellville, Ky.; Marion County High School, Lebanon, Ky.; McLean County High School, Calhoun, Ky.; North Bullitt High School, Shepherdsville, Ky.; Shelby Valley High School, Pikeville, Ky.; Warren Central High School, Bowling Green, Ky.; Warren County High School, McMinnville, Tenn.
