WKU Police Explorer Post Finishes First

Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University’s Police Explorer Post 825 earned a first place finish at the 2008 Winterfest Annual Explorer Competition in Gatlinburg, Tenn.
           
The team of Rachel Bauer of Eddyville, Jared Crocker of Shepherdsville, and Sam Sosa of Corbin (a student at the Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science in Kentucky) finished first in the Class B Informing Event. They also finished third in DUI Vehicle Stops.
           
More than 2,500 Explorers from across the United States participated in the Feb. 1-3 event. WKU Explorers competed in three of 10 events that center on the skills associated with law enforcement.
           
Explorers are part of the Learning for Life program of the Boy Scouts of America. It introduces young men and women ages 14 to 20 to career track occupations and leadership programs.
