Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University’s College of Health and Human Services will host its fourth annual Freshman Academic Achievement Awards on Saturday (Feb. 9) in the Kentucky Room of the Kentucky Library and Museum.
Those being honored 67 freshmen who were named to the Dean’s List (3.4-3.7 GPA) and 50 freshmen who were named to the President’s List (3.8-4.0 GPA) during their first semester at WKU.
Students and their parents will be welcomed by Dean John Bonaguro and a representative from Academic Affairs. Internationally acclaimed speaker and author Marianne Smith Edge will discuss her career as a registered dietitian and business entrepreneur.
This year the guidance counselors from the high school of each of the honorees were invited. Attending the dinner will be the chair of the Parents Advisory Council, Stan Raley, and representatives from each CHHS department. The Parents Advisory Council provided funds to support this important retention effort in 2008.
