Green, Ky. - About 420 children on 42 teams will gather at Western Kentucky University’s Diddle Arena on Jan. 10 for the Kentucky FIRST LEGO League’s state robotics competition.
The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will conclude with an awards ceremony at 4:30 p.m.
The theme of this year’s event is “Climate Connections,” which calls for teams to research and “Embark on an exploration of the earth’s climate in the Climate Connections Challenge! Discover the links between science, people, resources and communities. Unearth how we learn about past climates and delve into questions surrounding our current and future climatic conditions.”
In the competition, teams build a robot to perform various tasks as part of the challenge. Teams also are judged on teamwork, research project and technical and design aspects.
