Green, Ky. - The Western Kentucky University Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) team won the Regional Championship at the SIFE Competition in Cincinnati on March 28. This is the team’s fourth straight regional championship.
The team was one of two selected from a six-team league that will continue to the national finals to be held in Chicago May 12-15. The students presented their new 2008 projects, including the Hilltoppers for Hire temp agency and International Chamber of Commerce initiative.
A comment received from one of the judges complimented the WKU students on their international interaction as being a pivotal point in providing education, and expanding economic growth. Another judge commented that WKU displayed the “best presentation skills we’ve seen all day.”
WKU was praised for the many projects that were ongoing, which demonstrates to the judges that WKU SIFE team is dedicated to the work they are doing.
The SIFE team has made an impact on the WKU campus, in the community and globally. Projects taken on by WKU SIFE teach participants about market economics, personal success skills, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, business ethic, and sustainability.
