Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University and the Hilltopper Basketball Program recognized an important group of donors during the WKU Men’s Basketball Banquet on Sunday. According to Dr. Wood Selig, WKU’s Director of Athletics, this group of donors has collectively given and pledged $395,000.
These benefactors include:
- Jerry and Becky Blacketer of Louisville
- Gerry and Janice Edds of Owensboro
- Houchen’s Industries
- Jones Builders
- Leon and Lassie Page of Franklin
- Ray “Tommy” Thomas of Louisville
- Bill Yates of Louisville
“WKU Basketball is so fortunate to have such a strong showing of private financial support to assist in our efforts to solidify the foundation of an elite Men's Basketball program,” Selig said. “These generous benefactors are literally buying into the vision of supporting WKU Basketball at a Top 25 level as they continue to answer the challenge before all of us to position WKU basketball among the nation’s elite. Their participation and support of our fund-raising efforts is most critical and beneficial as we strive to not only sustain but build upon our Sweet 16 momentum and success.”
