Campus Forums Set To Discuss WKU Budget

Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University will have two forums to discuss the budget situation, the University’s budget process and the impact of state budget cuts.
           
The forums, which will include WKU President Gary Ransdell and key administrators, will be April 17 in Mass Media and Technology Hall Auditorium. A forum for faculty and staff will be at 1 p.m. and will be followed by a forum for students at 2 p.m.
           
WKU has taken a 3 percent state budget cut, or $2.5 million, for 2007-08 and faces another 3 percent cut in state funding for 2008-09. Discussion will include the impact of the cuts on tuition, spending priorities, faculty and staff salaries and capital projects. Administrators will also discuss the redirection of internal funding and the uses of tuition revenue.
