Homecoming 2007: Traffic, Parking, Ticket Information

Bowling Green, Ky. - If you’re coming to the WKU campus for Homecoming 2007 activities, here’s some helpful information for the Friday and Saturday events.

Friday, Nov. 9

Events: The Citizens First Homecoming Parade (4 p.m. down College Heights Boulevard/Avenue of Champions to University Boulevard); Citizens First Big Red Street Fest (5 p.m.) at Diddle Arena auxiliary gym; Lady Topper basketball (6 p.m.), Hilltopper basketball and Big Red’s Roar (8:30 p.m.) at Diddle Arena.
Traffic: Portions of College Heights Boulevard/Avenue of Champions will be closed to traffic beginning at 2:30 p.m. and will reopen immediately following the parade.
Parking: Free parking will be available until 4:30 p.m. at Parking Structure 1. After 4:30 p.m., event parking charges will be in effect. Additional parking will be available in campus lots.
Tickets: Admission is free for the Citizens First Big Red Street Fest in Diddle Arena’s auxiliary gym. Guests should enter Street Fest at the auxiliary gym entrance next to Diddle Arena Entrance 4. The first 200 fans to arrive at Street Fest receive a free ticket to that night’s WKU basketball games. Tickets for the basketball games will be $10. The arena will not be cleared between games; therefore, a ticket to the Lady Toppers game will be accepted for admission to the Hilltoppers vs. Kennesaw State game. WKU students will be admitted free after 6:45 p.m.; students who arrive earlier will be charged $5.

Saturday, Nov. 10
Events: Numerous events/reunions for campus organizations, clubs and departments beginning at 9 a.m. Festival of Friends begins at 1 p.m. at Downing University Center South Lawn. WKU vs. Troy at 4 p.m. at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium.
Traffic and parking: Avenue of Champions will close at noon. Additional parking information can be found online at www.wkusports.com/pdf/fanguide.pdf.   
Tickets: General admission football game tickets will be available at $20 per person.
