Green, Ky. - Pete Mahurin, senior vice president at Hilliard Lyons, will be the speaker for the 2007 L.Y.
Lancaster-Hugh Puckett Lecture Oct. 11 at Western Kentucky University.
Mahurin, a member of the boards of several banks and brokerage firms, will speak about “Winning Through Failure.” Mahurin is a former student of Dr. Lancaster although he did not stay in the pre-medical program.
The lecture begins at 6 p.m. at the Mass Media and Technology Hall Auditorium. A reception will begin at 5 p.m. with a dinner following the talk at MMTH. Tickets for the dinner are $15. RSVP by Oct. 8 by contacting Dr. Bruce Kessler at (270) 745-4449.
The L.Y. Lancaster-Hugh Puckett Lectureship Society is in its 28th year and has hosted lectures by several notable individuals, including Harry Gray, Dorris Hutchinson, Stanley Cohen (Nobel prize winner), Ray Harm (ornithological painter), Gene Shearer, Raymond Preston, Jeb Magruder (Nixon aide), Richard Grise, and Steve Henry (lieutenant governor).
