WKU To Honor National Guard At Football Game

Bowling Green, Ky. - Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium will be a sea of red, white and blue Saturday as Western Kentucky University welcomes home soldiers from the National Guard.
           
WKU will be giving away 10,000 United States flags to help honor soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 123rd Armor; 1st Battalion, 149th Infantry; and the 2123rd Transportation Company at the WKU-North Carolina Central game. The soldiers are safely home from deployment in Southwest Asia and Iraq.
           
The soldiers will participate in the Topper Walk parade with the band, football team, cheerleaders and Topperettes prior to the 6 p.m. kickoff and will receive special recognition on the field with WKU President Gary Ransdell at halftime.
