Bowling
Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University forensic team members traveled to Rome, Ga., Colorado Springs, Colo., and Tacoma, Wash., on the weekend of Oct. 26-28, qualifying several more members for the national tournaments in April.
At Berry College in Georgia, the team of 15 placed second in overall sweepstakes. University of Alabama captured the title, while the University of Mississippi placed third.
Results from the Berry College Tournament are as follows:
Joele Denis, a junior from Hollywood, Fla., tournament champion in prose interpretation, fourth in duo interpretation (with Samantha Harrison), sixth in communication analysis and sixth in impromptu speaking in the Berry College portion; tournament champion in prose interpretation, second in communication analysis and fifth in duo interpretation (with Samantha Harrison) in the Alumni portion.
Ben Pyle, a senior from Harrisburg, Ill., tournament champion in dramatic interpretation, tournament champion in duo interpretation (with Maggie Waid) and third in poetry interpretation in the Berry College portion; second in duo interpretation (with Maggie Waid) and third in poetry interpretation in the Alumni portion.
Ashley Litsey, a junior from Hodgenville, tournament champion in poetry interpretation and second in after-dinner speaking in the Berry College portion; second in after-dinner speaking and fourth in poetry interpretation in the Alumni portion.
Adam Swanson, a sophomore from Rosemount, Minn., tournament champion in communication analysis and second in prose interpretation in the Berry College portion; fifth in communication analysis in the Alumni portion.
Seth Peckham, a sophomore from Alden, Kan., tournament champion in impromptu speaking and fourth in informative speaking in the Berry College portion; third in impromptu speaking and sixth in informative speaking in the Alumni portion.
Maggie Waid, a senior from Symsonia, tournament champion in duo interpretation (with Ben Pyle) in the Berry College portion; second in duo interpretation (with Ben Pyle) in the Alumni portion.
Jeffrey Boggess, a sophomore from Hayward, Calif., third in duo interpretation (with Cornelius Lee) and fourth in poetry interpretation in the Berry College portion; tournament champion in poetry interpretation and third in duo interpretation (with Cornelius Lee) in the Alumni portion.
Micah Mason, a junior from Desoto, Texas, second in poetry interpretation and fourth in persuasive speaking in the Berry College portion; third in persuasive speaking and sixth in poetry interpretation in the Alumni portion.
Samantha Harrison, a sophomore from Carrollton, Texas, fourth in duo interpretation (with Joele Denis) in the Berry College portion; fifth in poetry interpretation, fifth in duo interpretation (with Joele Denis) and sixth in dramatic interpretation in the Alumni portion.
Cornelius Lee, a junior from Killeen, Texas, third in duo interpretation (with Jeffrey Boggess) in the Berry College portion; third in duo interpretation (with Jeffrey Boggess) in the Alumni portion.
Beth Berger, a senior from Lexington, third in communication analysis in the Berry College portion; third in communication analysis in the Alumni portion.

Lauren Nelson, a junior from Wheaton, Ill., tournament champion in impromptu speaking, second in communication analysis, semifinalist in parliamentary debate (with Adam Heugel), fourth parliamentary debate speaker and quarterfinalist in Lincoln-Douglas debate.
