Bowling
Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University forensic team members co-hosted the WKU Forensics Fiesta with Ohio University on WKU’s campus the weekend of Sept. 28-30.
U.S. Air Force Academy took the debate sweepstakes, with McKendree University taking second and Arkansas State taking third. WKU swept the OU portion of the tournament, with the University of Alabama taking second, and California State University, Long Beach taking third.
Results from the WKU Debate Fiesta are as follows:
Lauren Nelson, a junior from Wheaton, Ill., top parliamentary speaker, top Lincoln-Douglas speaker, second in parliamentary debate (with Adam Heugel) and quarterfinalist in Lincoln-Douglas debate.
Chad Meadows, a senior from Owensboro, tournament champion in Lincoln-Douglas debate, semifinalist in parliamentary debate (with Tom Schally), fourth parliamentary speaker and eighth Lincoln-Douglas speaker.
Brian Bloss, a junior from Coppell, Texas, tournament champion in parliamentary debate (with Kelcey Hathaway) and sixth parliamentary speaker.
Kelcey Hathaway, a sophomore from Garden City, Kan., tournament champion in parliamentary debate (with Brian Bloss).
Thomas Schally, a senior from Stillwater, Minn., semifinalist in parliamentary debate (with Chad Meadows), third parliamentary speaker, semifinalist in Lincoln-Douglas debate and seventh Lincoln-Douglas speaker.
Rachel Mosley, a junior from Lake Tahoe, Calif., second in Lincoln-Douglas debate, third Lincoln-Douglas speaker and quarterfinalist in parliamentary debate (with Jessica Furgerson).
Elizabeth Mullins, a sophomore from Plymouth, Mass., second parliamentary speaker and quarterfinalist in parliamentary debate (with Logan Parke).
Adam Heugel, a senior from Rosenburg, Texas, second in parliamentary debate (with Lauren Nelson), semifinalist in Lincoln-Douglas debate and fifth Lincoln-Douglas speaker.
