Green, Ky. - The partners of the Southern Kentucky Book Fest have announced that Mitch Albom will be the featured guest at the 10th Anniversary of Book Fest next spring.
The 2008 Book Fest is scheduled for Saturday, April 19, at the Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green and will feature best-selling thriller writer Harlan Coben, American Girl writer Kathleen Ernst, and children’s author and illustrator of the “Arthur” books Marc Brown.
Albom is the author of nine books, including the newest, “For One More Day.” His first novel, “The Five People You Meet in Heaven,” is the most successful U.S. hardcover first novel ever and has sold more than eight million copies worldwide. “Tuesdays with Morrie,” his chronicle of time spent with a beloved but dying college professor, spent four years on the New York Times Best Sellers list and is the most successful memoir ever published.
International bestseller Harlan Coben is author of the acclaimed series about sports agent Myron Bolitar. Coben is winner of the Edgar Award, Shamus Award, and Anthony Award. Kathleen Ernst has written six titles for American Girl, including Kit mystery “Midnight in Lonesome Hollow” set in the Appalachian mountains of Kentucky. Marc Brown is creator of the “Arthur” the aardvark stories which have sold 60 million copies and spawned the Emmy Award-winning PBS television series.
SOKY Book Fest is Kentucky’s largest literary festival and a fundraiser for the promotion of literacy. The event attracts thousands of readers of all ages who welcome the opportunity to meet their favorite authors and purchase signed copies of their works. This successful community collaboration has been named one of Kentucky’s Top 10 Events and is a partnership project of WKU Libraries, Bowling Green Public Library, and Barnes and Noble booksellers.
