WKU Offering Grant Writing And Administration Workshop

November 12, 2007

Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University’s Continuing Education office in cooperation with the Department of Political Science is offering a Grant Writing and Administration Workshop. The workshop will take place in four sessions during WKU’s 2008 Winter Term.

This workshop is designed for local government officials and program staff, community-based organizations, non-profit organizations, volunteers and community leaders, government consultants, university faculty and staff, and MPA graduate students.

The course will provide a solid foundation to class participants in locating sources of grant funding, writing successful grant proposals, securing funding and administering grant contracts. Students will be introduced to reading and materials that will assist them in developing grant proposals. Guest speakers from a variety of fields, who are experts in grant writing and administration, will enrich the learning experience.

This is part one of a two-part course and is worth 1.5 credit hours. The second part will focus on grant administration and will be offered in May 2008 for an additional 1.5 credit hours.

For information and to download a registration form and course syllabus, visit the Continuing Education website at www.wku.edu/ce. Questions about the course should be directed to the instructor, Dr. Victoria Gordon at (270) 745-6192.
