Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University’s Continuing Education office in cooperation with the Society for Human Resource Management is accepting registrations for the Essentials of Human Resource Management seminar Dec. 6-7.
This seminar is for managers who need to know basic HR concepts before disciplinary action is required. It is specifically designed for employees with management responsibilities such as entry-level human resource professionals and divisional or departmental supervisors who have the responsibility for interviewing and training employees. It is also appropriate for those exploring Human Resources as a career field and for HR professionals, such as staffing specialists, whose experience has been in a single functional area.
The program topics include Resource Management, Employment Law, Recruitment and Selection, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Development and Performance Management. Each of these topics will be covered in detail during the two-day course.
The seminar will be held at the Carroll Knicely Conference Center on WKU’s South Campus at 2355 Nashville Road in Bowling Green. The registration fee of $395 includes all student materials, the class workbook and a Certificate of Completion.
